TOWN PLANNING DEPARTMENT
PRINCIPAL TOWN PLANNER (SPATIAL PLANNING SECTION) – GRADE 12 (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

-Heads the operations of one of the spatial Planning Sections.
-Prepares statutory plans (Master Plans, Local Development Plans and layout plans).
-Manages Traffic and Transportation Planning.
-Formulates policies and by-laws to enhance land delivery, development control, traffic and transportation planning.
-Prepares prohibition and enforcement orders.
-Attends to public inquiries on planning matters.
-Prepares and Coordinates preparation of reports for Assistant Director of Town Planning.
-Prepares tender documents and adjudication.

Qualifications and Experience

-A recognized University Degree in Urban Planning.
-Must be a member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP).
-A clean class 4 drivers’ licence.
-3. Experience and skills
-At least 5 year’s experience in a similar environment.
-Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
