-Collaborate with Finance to develop and implement a robust framework for evaluating and selecting projects and programmes based on strategic alignment, business value, and risk
-Lead the prioritization of initiatives, ensuring an optimal balance of short-term and long-term goals.
-Oversee the development of comprehensive business cases for proposed initiatives, including financial analysis, resource requirements, and risk assessments.
-Ensure all business cases are thoroughly evaluated and approved in line with governance standards.
-Define and implement a benefits realization framework to track and measure the outcomes of portfolio initiatives.
-Establish and maintain robust governance structures to ensure portfolio activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
-Ensure portfolio risks, dependencies, and interdependencies are actively managed and communicated.
-Oversee resource allocation across the portfolio, ensuring optimal utilization of people, budgets, and technology.
-Provide input into workforce planning to support the successful delivery of portfolio initiatives.
-Develop and maintain portfolio-level dashboards to track performance metrics, risks, and benefits realization.
-Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on portfolio management strategy and performance.
-Build and lead a high-performing portfolio team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
-Undertake any other duties, tasks, assignments and projects as may be delegated from time to time.
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Engineering or a related field.
-MBA or equivalent post graduate degree.
-Certification in project management methodologies (PMP, MSP, PRINCE2, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
-Have at least 7 years of experience in project portfolio management, PMO leadership, or a related role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector
-Proven track record of managing large and complex project portfolios in a dynamic environment.
-Proficiency in portfolio management tools and reporting systems.
-Experience of project management methodologies including PRINCE 2 or Agile
-Experience in analysing data, identifying impacts to the project status
-A highly developed understanding of IT, data, and change management within a matrix environment.
-Strategic thinking with the ability to prioritize initiatives and align them with organizational objectives.
-Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to build trust in a complex and diverse stakeholder environment and manage senior level stakeholder relationships.
