Midlands State University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Plant Technician within the Midlands State University Enterprise Division.
-The Plant Technician will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all processing equipment in the Chemical Manufacturing and Food Processing Plants.
-Installation of new plant machinery.
-Technical maintenance of plant machinery.
-Maintaining, repairing, and optimizing plant and associated devices swiftly to reduce downtime.
-Advising management on the latest and cost-effective machinery.
-Contributing to the continuous improvement of the plant, processes, and systems.
-Providing technical support and enhancing machinery, systems, and process capabilities.
-Making technical recommendations for changes required by the production team.
-Ensuring that all equipment is calibrated and functional according to their specifications.

-National certificate in Instrumentation and control systems.
-At least one year of relevant experience in plant and/or instruments maintenance.
Skills and Competences:
-Knowledgeable of health and safety compliance issues in the manufacturing environment.
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
