Umguza Rural District Council is hiring a planning officer
As a Planning Officer (Grade 8) at Umguza Rural District Council, the following duties are expected:
-Coordination and preparation of layout plans for residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, and other uses.
-Coordination, preparation, and updating of Master and Local Plans in accordance with the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act [Chapter 29:11].
-Implementation of Development Control measures.
-Facilitation of processing subdivision of land, development permits, change of use, and special consent applications.
-Coordination of land surveys with the Surveyor General's office.
-Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act [Chapter 29:12], Rural District Councils Act [Chapter 29:13], and other relevant legislation.
-Collaborating with the Department of Spatial Planning and Development in the approval of subdivisions within the District.
To qualify for the Planning Officer position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
-ND from a recognized institution in Rural and Urban planning or equivalent.
-A minimum of 2 years of working experience.
-Local Government experience is an added advantage.
-Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and 3D Draughting software.
-A clean record of service within the Local Government fraternity.
-Possession of a clean class 4 driver’s license is an added advantage.
