job Description

Tobacco Industry & Marketing Board (TIMB) is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Payroll Clerk. The successful candidates will be stationed at the TIMB Head Office. Applications are invited from suitable candidates to be submitted by January 4, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Accurately inputting payroll data and updating employee records.
-Verifying the registration of new employees with Pension Houses such as NSSA.
-Printing journals and ensuring the accuracy of the respective entries (Data Validation).
-Correctly interpreting awards, agreements, contracts, and court determinations for payments.
-Compiling payroll month-end journals and other payroll reports.
-Ensuring payroll backups are maintained.
-Keeping abreast of relevant compliance with political, tax legislation, and other regulations impacting remuneration.
-Timely addressing payroll queries from stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

-Degree in Human Resources Management.
-Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Payroll Administration.
-Knowledge of Belina Payroll system is a distinct advantage.
-Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Other Requirements/Competences:
-Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
-Ability to multitask.
-Teamwork.
-Good communication skills across all levels.
-Self-starter.
-Unquestionable integrity.
