Position Overview: As a Operations & maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the mechanical risks associated with our mining operations. Your work will focus on safe plant machinery operations, and supporting safe mining planning and operations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mining engineers, environmental specialists, and construction personnel, to ensure that mining activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conducting scheduled and breakdown maintenance of the plant • Ensuring plant availability and reliability • Conducting plant inspections for preventative maintenance • Investigating and reporting on all breakdown maintenance • Ensuring standardized and compliant electrical, and mechanical installations • Monitoring and inspecting all contractor installations for quality and compliance • Formulation and ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures • Ensuring availability of all critical spares through timeous ordering • Ensuring safety of plant and people • Budgeting for the department
Qualifications and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field. A -Master’s degree or additional certifications in civil, mechanical or mining engineering is highly desirable. -Minimum 4 years of experience in Civil /mechanical engineering , with a strong focus on mining applications.
