As a member of the creative team, the copywriter writes and edits content for a variety of media including print, web, mobile, video, and social media, working closely with other members of the design team to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging. When required, a copywriter might also be called on to develop strategies to guide the direction of a campaign or project. Understanding of UX, SEO and content strategy is key.
Content creation
-Writing clear, compelling copy for mediums for individual social media posts to direct communications, video and radio. ATL, BTL, in branch collateral
-Drives content strategy for products
-Overseeing and steering junior members of studio teams
-Copywriter to ensure the clarity of messaging, adherence of brand tone and manner in messaging
-Ensure that copy adheres to brand guidelines and legal & compliance requirements.
-Become familiar with OMF’s products and draft copy that is consistent with how we position those products across all platforms
Design and Conceptualization
-Steer and collaborate with graphic designers to create video storyboards and landing page wireframes.
-Stay abreast of developments in the different media used by the marketing team and stay informed of best practices.
-Contribute to brainstorming and campaign strategy sessions.
-Drive conceptualisation and creative strategy articulation for creative studio
-Drives brainstorming and strategy for individual campaigns
External and internal Communications
-Draft communications content and plans for campaigns
-Design content that drives interest, consideration and product take up
Brand Strategy and Effectiveness
-Advise team on how to optimise web pages for search engines and higher conversion rates
-Creating concepts and content, setting audiences and value propositions, and integrating digital channels

-Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

-Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or equivalent in communication or marketing NQF 6+
-8+ years’ experience writing advertising or marketing copy for both print and digital channels (web, blog, social, video, direct marketing, billboards etc)
-Minimum of 6 years' experience in Writing, Proofreading and Editing
-Intermediate understanding of UX, SEO and content strategy
-Intermediate experience with productivity tools like Trello or Asana
