UNICEF Zimbabwe is seeking a qualified national consultant to conduct a comprehensive gender analysis of the education sector in Zimbabwe. This consultancy is open to individuals who are nationals of Zimbabwe only.
UNICEF Zimbabwe seeks an enthusiastic individual consultant to support the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE) in conducting a gender analysis of the education sector. The goal is to assess the current status of gender equality, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to strengthen gender mainstreaming in the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) 2021-2025.
-Review existing policies and frameworks contributing to gender equality in the education sector.
-Identify key barriers to achieving gender equality through data analysis and review of national policies and plans.
-Develop recommendations and an action plan for MoPSE to enhance its systemic gender equality approach.
-Map government, civil society, and development partner actors involved in implementing the action plan for gender equality in education.
-Advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in gender, education, development studies, social sciences, or related fields.
-Minimum of five years' experience in education development or a development context.
-Sound knowledge of gender and education, with the ability to engage various stakeholders.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including report writing.
-Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
-Familiarity with the Zimbabwean education context and understanding of gender issues in Zimbabwe.
Languages:
-Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of a local language of the duty station is considered an asset.
