Last year, we embarked on a mission to redefine the crew experience, and today, we're thrilled to introduce you to our latest initiative: BETTER. This program is all about enhancing the lives of our crew members and crafting a workplace that is truly fulfilling.
Here's a sneak peek into what awaits you:
BETTER Compensation: We understand the challenges that come with the rising cost of living. Starting from June 1st, we've implemented a salary increase for all team members. We've also introduced a performance-based component to recognise and reward the hard work of some front facing roles to ensure our guests' satisfaction. BETTER Onboarding: Starting onboard can be costly, but with a free set of uniform, introductory training and mandatory training (such as HBST for most nationalities unless otherwise indicated) that you can do from home and reduced medical checks, we aim to minimise your initial costs dramatically. BETTER Connectivity: We understand the importance of staying connected with your loved ones during your time on contract. Through partnerships with new providers like Starlink, we offer a free monthly allowance to video call loved ones, we have also halved the cost for any additional internet packages (although were pretty sure you won’t need it!). We want to ensure you can maintain strong bonds with family and friends whilst at sea. BETTER Rotation: Our commitment to excellence knows no bounds. With the establishment of manning agencies worldwide, we're reaching out to new talent to join our crew. This expansion will allow for improved rotation options, reducing the contract length onboard for many positions, ensuring you have a better work-life balance. BETTER Food: Good food and comfort are essential. Our skilled culinary team is crafting a healthier, tastier dining experience using premium ingredients. We even have a dedicated travelling colleague who continuously monitors and improve menus! BETTER Crew Areas: We're also revamping crew areas on our legacy ships to provide a more inviting and comfortable space, creating a BETTER home away from home. And for all ships, we are introducing the brand-new Hair Waves Salon, a grooming space available for all crew to ensure they’re always look their best! BETTER Development: Equality and growth opportunities matter to us. We have increased the size of our HR teams onboards, introducing a dedicated Learning & Development lead to support all professional development of crew members. We're also making our e-learning platform more accessible than ever before, so you can pursue professional development from the comfort of your home. MSC Cruises is here to support your aspirations.
