International NGO Vacancy
Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer
Location: Harare, Zimbabwe
Immediate Supervisor: Program Coordinator
Start Date: 1 October 2024
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract (Renewable based on availability of funding and
performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Develop relevant monitoring and evaluation system with tools, to assess the impact of the
country program.
• Participate in and provide support to project design activities including development of
project theories of change, frameworks & other M&E components of proposal development
• Conduct in-depth field research with local implementing partners and communities about
the long-term impacts of program activities on individuals and organisations.
• Participate in all program baselines, needs assessment exercises, tracer studies, program
evaluations, stakeholder analysis and monitoring exercises and collect, analyse, summarize,
and document findings using coherent and concise reports.
• Work with data platforms, databases and select technologies to capture and organize data.
• Develop monitoring and evaluation indicators and make them operational to obtain highquality quantitative and qualitative data in the Country Program.
• Contribute to institutional learning processes by developing a learning agenda, convening
communities of practice and other organizational learning practices
• Conduct program analysis, including tracking lessons learnt and best practices in monitoring
and evaluation.
• Design and facilitate training workshops on Community Led Monitoring (CLM) mechanisms
for implementing partners and project participants.

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of five years professional experience within the NGO sector, with the
responsibility of implementing MEAL activities in peace building and migration projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in M&E, Development Studies, Demographics, Statistics,
Social sciences, or related field.
• An advanced certificate in M&E and or professional qualification will be an added
advantage.
• Experience in digital data collection and analysis tools & software, including KOBO & NVIVO
is an advantage.
• Ability to work across different levels, in multi- cultural and diverse communities desirable.
