The 5-year USAID funded Improving MNCH services project’s goal is to Improve maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) outcomes through increasing access to quality MNCH services and strengthening health services in five targeted provinces in Zimbabwe (Manicaland, Masvingo, Matabeleland South, Midlands, and Mashonaland West). This project will provide Technical Assistance (TA) to strengthen technical capacity of MOHCC at national, provincial, and district level to scale up high impact MNCH Interventions; enhance planning, distribution, and retention of MNCH health workforce in implementation areas; reinforce planning, management, and coordination of essential commodities and equipment procurement.

Position Summary:
The FHI360 Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for providing technical assistance to the MOHCC in the logistics and supply chain management of medical supplies and equipment related to maternal, newborn, and child health programs. The role is crucial in ensuring that the necessary resources are available, and accessible and quality data is generated for evidence-based MNCH interventions, such as prenatal care, newborn care, and emergency obstetric care.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Assist Logistics Officers (LOs), district pharmacy managers (DPMs), and provincial pharmacists (PPs) in providing training and mentorship on supply chain management.
-Provide technical assistance to districts in monitoring stock levels, anticipating upcoming needs, ensuring appropriate storage conditions, and maintaining accurate records of all MNCH commodities, including inventory levels, distribution, and consumption trends.
-Provide technical assistance to MoHCC in timely MNCH data collection, analysis, reporting, and feedback to facilitate data visibility and accountability.
-Provide technical assistance to LOs, DPMs, and PPs to develop distribution plans, monitor delivery schedules, and liaise with the National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm) to facilitate the timely delivery of commodities.
-Provide technical assistance to MoHCC to ensure effective logistics support for MNCH programs.
-Participate in coordination meetings and share relevant logistics and supply chain information through Directorate of Pharmacy Services (DPS).
-Advocate for the provision of high-quality MNCH commodities and good MNCH logistics management practices within MoHCC.
-Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the DPS, PPs, DPMs, development partners, and all PSM stakeholders in the concerned districts involved in the MNCH supply chain management.
-Provide technical assistance to MoHCC in the rollout and training of supply chain technology solutions, such as eLMIS, and provide mentorship to improve reporting rates of facilities and data quality for decision-making.

-Write routine monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to relevant program stakeholders and contribute to the identification of best practices and success stories for circulation upon discussions with DPS.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
-Willingness to travel to different sites as required.
-Excellent written and spoken English.
-Driver’s License – Minimum of Class 4, valid for at least 2 years.

Qualifications and Experience

-Degree in pharmacy.
-A qualification in logistics, supply chain and data analytics is an added advantage.
