VACANCY NOTICE Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome sector, has an exciting and challenging career opportunity within its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant posts of Mine Surveyor on a 3 years Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Carry out accurate surveys and produce relevant/associated plans. Monitor and detect illegal mining activities within Zimasco claim blocks. Update mining faces for surface and underground mines, and maintain an accurate record of all mine workings. Guide underground mine development to ensure that the development work is done accurately. Development of subordinates. SHE Management within the Survey section.
Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science Degree in Survey or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution plus at least 10 year’s post qualification experience working as a Mine Surveyor covering both underground and surface mining environment. Mastery of the following survey procedures: Traversing, Levelling, Topographic Survey, Tachiometric Survey and Stockpile Survey. Mastery in the use of the following equipment: GNSS and Total Station and experience in operating Drones is being a distinct advantage. Proficiency in the use of relevant survey softwares. Practical mastery of Vulcane Software Survey Modules is a distinct advantage. Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and written. Working knowledge of safety management systems, with exposure to the NOSA SHE System being an added advantage. Good working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP will be an added advantage. Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
