A high impact, strategically, commercially, and operationally astute Mine Manager is sought with a demonstrable track record of contributing significantly to increased production, exceptional cost control and safety. This is for a mine that is into alluvial mining on riverbed mining. The right candidate will be responsible for the following amongst other duties:
Duties and Responsibilities
-Oversee the maintenance and repair of mining equipment and machinery. -Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant performance and maximize productivity. -Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among the workforce. -Responsible for the overall management of mining projects. -Ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment. -Meeting production targets. -Planning and coordinating mining activities. -Production planning and scheduling. -Annual and five-year budget proposals and presentations. -Monitoring and reporting of operations including safety.
Qualifications and Experience
-Mining Engineering Honors Degree or equivalent -Certificate in Drilling with a full blasting license -10 years’ experience in an alluvial mining environment is a must. -Conversant with mining regulations and ability to stay up to date with changes within the sector.
