The focus of this role is to strategically manage, lead and facilitate the relationships of a Panel of MFC Partners (financial planning business) in order to ensure the retention and growth of its relationship with MFC. The incumbent is a manager of managers, accountable for achieving results over periods of up to 2 years.

Defines, develops and leads the implementation and execution of a partnership strategy to drive inorganic growth, product innovation and diversification to enhance the organisation’s presence and reputation for specialty insurance products within the market. Builds strong networks and maintais strategic partnerships with brokers, UMAs, internal stakeholders and across the Old Mutual Group.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures business growth through directing and managing Strategic Relationship activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organisational strategy.

Responsible for interpreting the needs of Strategic Partners and ensures that MFC deliver on our value proposition on all levels.

Leads a team of personnel nationally in order to strategically develop the existing relationships with financial planners (across all channels) and focuses on continuous market and advice development to compete on a global scale.

Responsible for building best practice financial planning businesses with Partners.

Responsible for improving Partners business profitability and ultimately increasing the capital value of the Partners businesses.

Plans, directs and manages the performance of the Strategic Relationship teams operations, as dictated by the overall strategy agreed by Exco, to maintain and develop business growth in accordance with the agreed business strategy.

Responsible for securing new profitable business from our existing Partner base and retaining our current Partner base thereby creating an enduring exchange of value for Partners and profits for MFC.

Corporate Strategy Shaping
Participate in the development of corporate strategy for a small local organization, applying functional expertise to test the viability of the strategy and contributing creative ideas and insights to support the strategy formation process.

Internal Client Relationship Management
Lead the development of partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organization, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans.

Leadership and Direction
Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.

Organization Structure
Define the detailed organization structure for a business area to align with corporate principles, define the relationship between elements of the organization, and define the responsibilities of senior managers, to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives.

Performance Management
Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

Policies and Procedures Development
Lead the development of policies, procedures, and related guidelines for a significant area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with external requirements and integration with the broader corporate policy framework.

Corporate Representation
Represent the organization or institution in a variety of industry, institutional, and/or professional forums, boards, and committees, in order to promote the company or institution brand or efforts. Represent the organization in external relations with investors, clients, industry, partners, the public, and others. Focus is on a specific area of the organization, such as a function or department. May involve preparation of presentations and materials for professional partnering meetings, seminars, and conferences.

Stakeholder Engagement
Identify and manage stakeholders up to and including top management level, finding out their needs, issues, and concerns and reacting to them by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.

Information and Business Advice
Provide authoritative specialist advice to the leadership team of a small or nationally based organization or subsidiary to guide the implementation of policy and the design and implementation of projects and change initiatives.

Insights and Reporting
Establish business-critical strategies to create, present, and communicate high-impact data and analytics insights and recommendations to critical internal and external stakeholders.

Data Collection and Analysis
Make authoritative recommendations that have a significant impact on the business over the short and long term. Recommendations could be technical or professional in nature.

Business Meetings/Events Arrangement
Develop and implement policies and strategies for arranging multiday venues, equipment, catering, accommodations, and travel for participants arriving from various locations to ensure the smooth running of large, complex events with multiple groups of people and multiple parts, workshops, dinners, and parties.
