Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities -Maintain and troubleshoot integrated mechanical, electrical, electronic and automated systems. -Support automation and control systems used in mining and mineral-processing operations. -Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, motors and variable-frequency drives. -Assist with installation, commissioning and optimisation of automated processing equipment. -Integrate mechanical equipment with electrical and control systems. -Support PLC, HMI and SCADA troubleshooting and optimisation. -Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring faults. -Support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes. -Work with mechanical and electrical engineering teams during plant upgrades. -Train local technicians and engineering personnel on automated equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements -Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Engineering or a related discipline. -Minimum 3 years’ relevant engineering experience, preferably in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry. -Practical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators and variable-frequency drives. -Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems. -SCADA experience will be an advantage. -Strong multidisciplinary troubleshooting abilities. -Ability to work effectively in mining and mineral-processing environments.
