MECHATRONICS ENGINEER (1 POST)
Location: Zimbabwe
Standard Mineral Exploration (Private) Limited is a mining company specializing in the mining and processing of chrome in Zimbabwe. As part of our continued expansion and commitment to operational excellence, we are inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced and highly motivated professionals to fill the position of Mechatronics Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Design, install, maintain and optimize automated systems used in chrome mining and mineral processing operations.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic and control systems.
* Maintain PLCs, sensors, actuators, drives and automated process control equipment.
* Improve plant efficiency through automation and process optimization.
* Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
* Monitor equipment performance and recommend engineering improvements.
* Support commissioning of new mining and processing equipment.
* Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental standards.
* Prepare technical reports, maintenance records and engineering documentation.
* Train maintenance personnel on automated systems and new technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering.
* Registration or eligibility for registration with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe will be an added advantage.
* At least **3 years' experience** in mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial operations.
* Strong knowledge of PLC programming, industrial automation, instrumentation and control systems.
* Experience with SCADA systems, variable speed drives and industrial electrical systems will be an added advantage.
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements within the mining industry.
