JOB ADVERTISEMENT MECHANICAL ENGINEER Company: Sunwest Mining (PVT) LTD Industry: Mining and Mineral Processing Location: Zimbabwe Sunwest Mining (PVT) LTD, a mining company engaged in gold mining and the processing of minerals and stones including Blackstone and Firestone, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Mechanical Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Installation, maintenance, and repair of mining and mineral processing equipment • Routine inspections, fault diagnosis, and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems • Development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs • Mechanical support for crushers, mills, conveyors, screening plants, and processing equipment • Ensuring compliance with mine safety regulations, engineering standards, and company procedures • Preparation of technical reports and maintenance documentation • Liaison with operations and production teams to minimize equipment downtime
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Registration with a recognized professional engineering body (where applicable) • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industrial environments • Proven experience with heavy mining and mineral processing equipment • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and rotating equipment • Ability to work in a demanding mining environment
ADDED ADVANTAGE • Experience in mineral processing plants • Exposure to crusher plants, ball mills, and conveyor systems • Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills
