Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: -Assisting with the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of mechanical equipment for the concrete manufacturing plant. -Supervising the installation and alignment of concrete mixers, conveyors, batching equipment, crushers, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems. -Developing and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for plant machinery. -Diagnosing mechanical faults and coordinating repairs to minimise equipment downtime. -Monitoring the performance, reliability, and efficiency of mechanical equipment. -Reviewing mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, installation procedures, and technical documentation. -Ensuring machinery is installed and operated in accordance with applicable engineering and safety standards. -Coordinating with electrical, civil, production, and other technical personnel during plant establishment and commissioning. -Maintaining appropriate maintenance, inspection, repair, and equipment performance records. -Providing technical recommendations for improving plant efficiency, equipment reliability, and production capacity. -Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience Applicants should possess: -A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification. -Relevant practical experience in mechanical engineering, industrial plants, manufacturing, construction materials, mining, or similar heavy-industry environments. -Knowledge of industrial machinery installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. -Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications. -Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills. -Experience with concrete manufacturing, batching plants, or related processing equipment will be an added advantage.
