MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Design, install, commission and maintain mechanical equipment used in mining and mineral processing operations.
-Supervise and support the maintenance of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, mills and other processing equipment.
-Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
-Diagnose mechanical and equipment failures and conduct root-cause analysis.
-Inspect machinery and identify potential mechanical faults before they result in equipment failure.
-Support the installation, commissioning and optimisation of new mining and processing equipment.
-Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and productivity.
-Provide technical support for hydraulic, pneumatic and rotating equipment.
-Prepare maintenance schedules, technical reports and equipment performance assessments.
-Ensure all mechanical systems comply with applicable safety and operational requirements.
-Work closely with electrical, automation, mining and process engineering teams.
Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and other engineering personnel.
