Reports to: Director, International Affairs, Marketing and Communication

Duties and Responsibilities

Ÿ Responsible for managing the University’s public relations and communicating the University’s position to media.
Ÿ Develop and distribute press kits, including press releases, fact sheets and other supporting materials to provide media with accurate and up-to-date information about the University.
Ÿ Write and edit speeches, presentations and other communication materials to ensure key messages are conveyed effectively.
Ÿ Manage media inquiries by responding promptly and effectively to inquiries, providing accurate and timely information and ensuring key personnel are prepared for interviews and media appearances.
Ÿ Track and analyse media coverage, providing insights and recommendations to inform future media relations strategies and tactics.
Ÿ Foster and maintain strategic institutional partnerships that drive the University’s various initiatives.
Ÿ Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute high-profile events, conferences and ceremonies that promote the University's brand and build relationships.
Ÿ Mobilising partnerships with stakeholders including the University’s Alumni Community to advance the University’s agenda.
Ÿ Identifying opportunities for collaborations with various stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Ÿ A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing or Public Relations or Media Studies or English or Journalism or related field
Ÿ A Master’s degree preferably in a related field
Ÿ Minimum 3 years of directly-related professional work experience and expertise in strategic communications and marketing, crisis communications
Ÿ Proficiency in Digital marketing
Ÿ Be flexible and a self-starter; able to manage multiple concurrent projects while also being highly detail-oriented with an attention to quality;
