A vacancy has emerged within First Mutual Reinsurance (Zimbabwe), and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Soliciting and accepting business offers from current and prospective clients, evaluating such offers upon receipt, and selecting which ones to accept in the region. -Ensuring that all facultative contracts and treaties are handled, cover notes and wordings are signed, and sent to brokers or cedants. -Preparing renewal and new business quotation proposals for cedants and brokers. -Keeping accurate records of all received and completed business offers and transactions. -Life & Health claims underwriting and retrocessionaire’s recoveries. -Working closely with the company's technical accountant to ensure premiums are collected on time and retrocessionaires are paid. -Reviewing assumptions, expectations, and results to enhance the quality of the underwriting book. -Assisting in the compilation of reinsurance and retrocession renewal data, statistics, and statements.

Qualifications and Experience
-Degree in Risk Management or Insurance or equivalent. -A Professional Qualification i.e., ACII, AIISA, is an added advantage. -A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a reinsurance department or a reputable life reinsurance company. -Proficient knowledge in IT and ability to work with reinsurance systems for business transaction processing and production reporting. -Knowledge and understanding of current market trends within the industry.
