VACANCY NOTICE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following post:

LEGAL OFFICER – CORPORATE SECRETARIAL SERVICES (X1)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support the Corporate Secretary in the provision of company secretarial services to the organization. The role provides professional secretarial and administrative support to the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and the wider organization, ensuring the effective functioning of the company’s governance framework.

The Legal Officer will also be assigned legal work as needed and will assist in crucial operational and procedural decisions to ensure the governance machinery runs smoothly and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting the Corporate Secretary in:
-Coordinating and managing statutory and stakeholders’ meetings.
-Maintaining governance documentation and ensuring compliance with corporate governance best practices.
-Ensuring compliance with corporate governance laws, regulations, and frameworks.
-Assisting in drafting and reviewing various legal and governance documents.
-Providing legal drafting, advisory, and litigation support as required.
-Ensuring proper handling and safe keeping of documents.
-Performing any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level passes, including English and Mathematics/Accounts.
-Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent qualification.
-Member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe in good standing.
-A Master’s degree and/or professional qualification will be an added advantage.
-Minimum of 3 years post-admission working experience in a corporate governance or legal environment.
-Proven experience in corporate law and governance principles.

-Excellent minute-taking, drafting, and communication skills.
-High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
-Professionalism, integrity, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills.
-Ability to handle confidential information.
-Strong soft skills.
-Proficiency in productivity software and digital governance platforms.
