Duties and Responsibilities
POST A: GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS Applicants must hold a minimum qualification of MSc in GIS and Remote Sensing or Geomatics and Surveying, Land Surveying or Urban Planning. Successful applicants should be able to teach Fundamentals of RADAR system, Radar image processing, interpretation, analysis and applications. DEM and DTM applications in Land Surveying, Land Information Systems, Land Evaluation and Land Use Planning. Cartography, Earth Coordinate Systems and Global Positioning System. Knowledge and INTEREST of emerging technologies such as the use of drones is a huge advantage. A PhD Degree in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing is an added advantage.
Qualifications and Experience
POST B: SPATIAL ECOLOGY Applicants must hold a minimum qualification of PhD Degree in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing, Spatial Ecology. Successful applicants should be able to teach at least 4 courses from the following: Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Spatial Analysis, Photogrammetry and Image Analysis, Geographical Information Systems Applications as well as GIS and Remote Sensing. The applicants must also be active in research and innovation. They will be required to supervise undergraduate research projects and participate in research at postgraduate level. MSc holders in the above mentioned fields may also apply.
