Duties and Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading in the development and launching of new programmes;Developing and producing of distance Teaching and Open Learning materials including writing modules;Developing, designing, outlining, reviewing or rebranding a minimum of one (1) programme per year;Able to conduct a minimum of two (2) tutorials per semester;Carrying out applied research to develop innovations for industrialisation;Promoting the University wide initiatives;Establishing partnerships with industry and local communities;Engaging in community service;Interfacing with other Faculties;Engaging in University service; andCarrying out any other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum qualification of a Master of Science Degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development or any other related qualification;A Bachelor of Science Honours in Geography and Environmental Studies/ Science and related qualifications in Environmental Management from a recognized University;Possession of a PhD in any of the areas stated above is an added advantage;A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in an institution of Higher Learning is a requirement;Knowledge of distance education would be an added advantage;Practical knowledge and experience in mapping resources using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technology is an added advantage;Approved consultancy and research experience in Geography and or Environmental Studies/Science.
