The position is central to the Seed Technology Laboratory and requires technical knowledge and experience, exceptional planning, organization and analytical skills, a hands-on approach to work and very good engagement/communication skills. The incumbent should be a good team player and willing to work outside normal working hours and will be on a performance-based contract reporting to the Seed Technologist. This is a 12-month fixed term contract.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Pelleting, film coating and packing tobacco seed • Conduct seed quality tests. • Keep accurate and up to date records - pelleting, film coating and seed testing. • Record temperatures in seed rooms and incubators. • Train and supervise subordinates assisting in the Laboratory. • Ensure all set Standard Operating PRocedures (SOPs) are followed at all time.
Qualifications and Experience
• A Diploma in Agriculture • Computer literacy • Ability to pay attention to detail • Adherence to Standard Operation Procedures • Ability to train and supervise subordinates • Agood communicator • Ability to identify challenges and suggest solutions •Clean Class 3 and 4 driver's licenses are an added advantage
