LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (1)

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Organizing and supervising practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students
-Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and instruments
-Managing laboratory inventories, including equipment and consumables
-Ordering, receiving, storing, and cataloguing laboratory supplies
-Assisting students with practical activities related to research projects
-Supervising and assigning duties to Technical Assistants
-Performing any other duties as assigned by the Chief Laboratory Technician or Chairperson of Department

Qualifications and Experience

-Applicants must possess a National Diploma in Science Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and reputable institution. A Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
-Candidates must have passed at least five (5)
-Ordinary Level subjects, including: English Language Mathematics Science
-A minimum of one (1) year of laboratory work experience is required.
-Preference will be given to candidates with experience at a tertiary education institution.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
