Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production sector, has some exciting and challenging career opportunities at its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant posts in the Division on Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sample receiving, preparation and storage. Assisting in assaying gold and chromite ore samples. Assisting in development and validation of laboratory methods, procedures and protocols. Assist in the general maintenance of laboratory equipment and general housekeeping. Assisting in the carrying out of root cause analysis on deviations from set parameters. Records management in the Laboratory section.
Qualifications and Experience
At least 5 Ordinary level passes including Mathematics and English. Diploma in Metallurgy or Applied Chemistry from a reputable tertiary institution is an added advantage. At least 2 years working experience in a mining or heavy manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of safety management systems, preferably with exposure to the NOSA SHE System. Holder of a clean Class 4 driver’s licence.
