job Description

Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production sector, has some exciting and challenging career opportunities at its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant posts in the Division on Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Sample receiving, preparation and storage.
 Assisting in assaying gold and chromite ore samples.
 Assisting in development and validation of laboratory methods, procedures and protocols.
 Assist in the general maintenance of laboratory equipment and general housekeeping.
 Assisting in the carrying out of root cause analysis on deviations from set parameters.
 Records management in the Laboratory section.

Qualifications and Experience

 At least 5 Ordinary level passes including Mathematics and English.
 Diploma in Metallurgy or Applied Chemistry from a reputable tertiary institution is an added advantage.
 At least 2 years working experience in a mining or heavy manufacturing environment.
 Working knowledge of safety management systems, preferably with exposure to the NOSA SHE System.
 Holder of a clean Class 4 driver’s licence.
