The Business Solutions Manager will be responsible for managing a team of software developers, analysts, designers, and testers in the development and implementation of software systems that meet the needs of Midlands State University. The manager will also be responsible for overseeing the overall project management of the ITS department and advising the ITS Director on matters related to software development and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining project scope, goals, deliverables, tasks, timelines, and required resources.
Assemble and lead project teams, ensuring clear communication, delegation of tasks, and motivation of team members, which may include IT staff and any other University stakeholders.
Monitor project scope and ensure project objectives are met, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate changing requirements.
Allocate and manage resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and technology assets.
Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, and changes to prevent project disruptions.
Ensure that project deliverables meet high-quality standards and comply with project requirements.
Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and implement changes as necessary to meet deadlines.
Regularly communicate project status, issues, and updates to IT staff, university management, and other relevant stakeholders.
Monitor project costs and ensure projects remain within the allocated budget.
Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field from a recognised University
A Project Management Qualification.
At least two (2) years’ working experience in an IT project management role.
