Zimstat, based in Harare, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Internal Auditor. The successful candidate, reporting to the Internal Audit Head, will play a key role in contributing to the agency's objectives by conducting systematic and disciplined audits. The focus will be on evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Conduct audits of ZIMSTAT in alignment with the Internal Audit Plan and following the Institute of Internal Audit Standards of best practice. -Review the adequacy of internal controls and propose improvements to ensure the effectiveness of the Agency's systems. -Manage corporate governance practices such as policies, procedures, and guidelines as designated by management. -Contribute to the Audit Work Plan, ensuring coverage of all auditable activities, especially in provincial offices. -Compile final audit reports, including management responses and recommendations, for review by the Internal Audit Manager. -Execute the approved Audit Work Plan by visiting provincial offices and conducting planned audit assignments to ensure a risk-free environment and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience
-A degree in Forensic Accounting and Auditing/Accounting. Progress towards CFE/CISA/CIA is advantageous. -Minimum of 1 year of experience in Internal Auditing. -Sound knowledge of SAP and Excel, with a strong appreciation of IPSAS and IFRS. -Assertiveness and well-developed presentation and communication skills. -Ability to work under pressure. -Higher level of integrity, analytical skills, and professional ethics.
