VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AUDITOR
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Information Technology Auditor to join its dynamic Internal Audit Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting IT audits, evaluating IT controls, identifying risks and vulnerabilities, and providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services to management on IT-related matters. The role involves assessing IT systems, processes, and infrastructure and making practical recommendations to enhance the Authority’s overall IT governance, security, and efficiency.
Reporting To Assistant Manager – Internal Audit
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Job Functions The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: -Reviewing IT risks to determine and recommend the nature, scope, and timing of audit engagements. -Conducting IT audits to assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls. -Evaluating IT systems, applications, and infrastructure for security vulnerabilities, compliance, and operational efficiency. -Developing and executing IT audit programs and procedures. -Gathering, analysing, and interpreting data to support audit findings and conclusions. -Preparing clear, concise, and well-structured audit reports. -Communicating audit findings, risks, and recommendations to management. -Following up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation. -Providing advisory services through participation in projects introducing new or changed systems and processes. -Collaborating with internal audit team members and other stakeholders. -Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, ICT trends, and best practices, and sharing technical knowledge with team members.
Qualifications and Experience
Key Job Requirements The successful candidate should meet the following minimum requirements: -A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field. -Professional certification such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or an equivalent ISACA qualification. ISO Auditor or Lead Auditor certification in any of the following standards: ISO/IEC 27001 ISO/IEC 20000 ISO/IEC 42001 -3–5 years’ relevant work experience. -Experience performing similar duties within an audit firm will be an added advantage.
