Reporting to the Country Director, the Humanitarian Consortium Coordinator will act as the focal point for the consortium of 9 INGOs operating in Zimbabwe with the aim to jointly collaborate in promoting efficient and effective preparedness and response to the current humanitarian challenges, particularly the anticipated disastrous effects of the anticipated El Niño and climate-change related phenomena in Zimbabwe. The Humanitarian Consortium Coordinator will be accountable for the overall achievement of the contractual objectives (timeframe, targets/indicators, and budget) of the projects and for monitoring that the activities are implemented accordingly by the respective consortium partners. With the support of the technical and support staff from all partners, this position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an integrated vision among partners while being accountable for delivery on project objectives, targets, time, and budget ensuring alignments and cost effectiveness. The position will serve as the key liaison and focal point with relevant stakeholders and will facilitate the collaborative partnership between them and the consortiums partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Coordinate activities across consortium partners, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
-Serve as the central/focal point of contact for all consortium members and other stakeholders.
-Develop and implement a comprehensive project work plan, considering timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
-Foster strong relationships with consortium members, promoting transparency, trust, and cooperation.
-Ensure efficient utilization of project funds, track expenditures, and report to the Consortium steering committee.
-Ensure compliance with donor regulations, financial guidelines, and reporting requirements.
-Identify financial and operational risks and propose mitigation strategies.
-Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
-Maintain accurate records, including meeting minutes, agreements, and correspondence.
-Facilitate knowledge exchange among consortium members.
-Manages the consortium public profiles on social media under the guidance of the consortium members.

Qualifications and Experience

-Master’s degree in international development, Public Policy, or a related field (preferred).
-Minimum 5 years of experience working in the development sector, with experience in advocacy and/or network management is a requirement.
-Strong understanding of the development landscape and policy environment in Zimbabwe.
-Proven experience in building and managing collaborative relationships among diverse stakeholders.
-Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
-Strong conceptualization, writing, editing, and research skills.
-Experience with project management methodologies.
-Fluency in English.

-Experience in grant writing and resource mobilization.
-Advocacy and policy experience.
-Understanding/working knowledge of the nexus programming approach.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
