How can you make a difference?
UNICEF Zimbabwe seeks to hire a passionate and dedicated HIV/AIDS Officer (PMTCT and Paediatric HIV) for their HIV/AIDS, Adolescent & Gender team. The HIV/AIDS Officer (PMTCT and Paediatric HIV) reports to the Chief HIV, Adolescents and Gender for guidance and supervision.

Purpose for the job:
Under the supervision of the Chief HIV, Adolescents and Gender, the HIV/AIDS Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the HIV PMTCT and Paediatric programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting of results. Moreover, the Officer contributes to achievement of sustainable results on PMTCT and paediatric HIV related programmes/projects according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM) and UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: A University Degree in public health, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology or other health related sciences is required

Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in HIV/AIDS planning and management especially in PMTCT and paediatric HIIV and/or in relevant areas of health care, health/emergency preparedness is required. Experience in HIV programme/project development in UN system agency or organization is an asset.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:
Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
