Celeste Medical Hub is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly organized Head Chef to establish and lead our hospital kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to build a professional food service operation from the ground up while making a meaningful impact on patient care and staff wellbeing.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring that nutritious, high-quality meals are prepared safely and efficiently for patients, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and develop nutritious, varied, and cost-effective menus.
Prepare specialized meals in accordance with dietary requirements and medical needs.
Lead, supervise, train, and mentor a team of cooks, fostering a positive and high-performing kitchen environment.
Manage food purchasing, supplier relationships, and vendor performance.
Monitor stock levels, control food costs, and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
Develop and maintain standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
Coordinate meal production to ensure timely service.
Work closely with hospital management and clinical staff regarding patient nutrition requirements.
Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
Assist in developing kitchen systems, policies, and procedures as the hospital continues to grow.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or Certificate in Professional Cookery, Culinary Arts, or a related qualification.
At least 3 years' experience in a leadership role within a commercial kitchen, hotel, hospital, or institutional catering environment.
Strong experience in menu planning and food costing.
Proven experience managing suppliers and food procurement.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Strong organizational and planning abilities.
Sound knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Experience in hospital or healthcare catering will be an added advantage.
