JOB SUMMARY
The Sports and Recreation Gym Attendant is responsible for contributing to the Sports and recreational activities at Midlands State University the Sports and Recreation Gym Attendant is responsible for contributing to the Sports and recreational activities at Midlands State University. The Gym Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming gym environment, assisting members, and providing basic support to ensure a positive fitness experience for Midlands State University students and staff
-Enforcing Gym, Recreational Centre, safety, fitness and departmental Policies.
-Execute emergency procedures when necessary
-Compiling records of users and managing documentation
-Reporting and assisting in maintenance works
-Assisting in replacements and ordering of equipment
-Preparation of deduction lists for staff
-Liaising with all the relevant University Departments when need arises through the Sports Department
-Attend to basic repairs of equipment
-Guiding gym prospective and registered users on the following:
-Appropriate workout programmes
-Proper attire and behavior in the gym
iii. Timetables
Payments-subscriptions and affiliations
Health and safety
Orientation of visitors and new users
vii. Maintaining order in the gymnasium
viii. Attending to any Other duties as assigned

-At least five (5) Ordinary level subjects including English.
-A sports-related qualification is a must.
-1 year proven working experience in a University or Tertiary Institution

-Has professional conduct
-Can work under pressure without supervision
-Is a team player
