job Description

Responsible for the overall security strategy and operations of the organization. This includes developing and implementing security policies, managing security teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The incumbent is responsible for protection of the organization's assets, personnel, and information.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Group security services management.
• Creates and enforces security procedures, and protocols for physical security.
• Complies with Old Mutual Limited (OML) Group security policies and standards.
• Leads, trains, and supervises security personnel, including security guards and specialists - both internal teams and subcontracted teams working for the organisation.
• Identifies vulnerabilities and potential threats and implements measures to mitigate risks.
• Ensures adherence to all relevant security-related laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develops and manages incident response plans and co-ordinates investigations of security breaches.
• Educates employees on security best practices and promotes a culture of security awareness.
• Manages the security department's budget and resources effectively.
• Collaborates with other departments, law enforcement, and external partners to enhance security.
• Keeps abreast of the latest security technologies, trends, and regulatory changes. • Maintains adequate security systems across the Group to monitor and enhance security
• Advises on travel security for employees and other stakeholders. Acts on International security alerts as necessary.
• Manages security guard Service Level Agreements.
• Co-ordinates event security management for business functions.

Business Continuity and Resilience:
• Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework across the Group, aligned to OML Business Resilience requirements.
• Conducts regular Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments.
• Leads the development and testing of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs).
• Co-ordinates crisis management and emergency response processes across all business units.
• Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements for continuity and resilience are met.
• Advises senior management on gaps in effectiveness of the plans and leads closure of the gaps.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience in security and business continuity management. Bank security management is an advantage.
• Formal education in security management or a related field
• Proven ability to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in security technologies and systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security and privacy.
