African Century Limited is inviting applications for the position of Graduate Trainee in the Business Development Department, focusing on leasing. This role is based in the leasing department and is ideal for a recent graduate with a strong desire to learn, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Learn to draft and submit proposals for approval to respective Credit Committees.
-Acquire the skills to handle customer applications and provide feedback.
-Develop the ability to respond to customer queries effectively.
-Learn to analyze, prepare, and submit credit appraisals for approval, ensuring proper documentation of customer files.
-Gain an understanding of the post-discounting process.
-Develop skills to create and maintain positive working relationships with "dealers" (assets or car and equipment suppliers), new clients, and existing clients to attract business to ACL.
-Participate in preparing agreement documents for approved leases, ensuring clients sign them.

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of one year of experience in credit management or within the banking sector.
-Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Business Studies, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
-B.Acc / B. Comm and an appropriate professional qualification (e.g., IOBZ, Credit Risk Management) is an added advantage.
-Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
-Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, fostering morale and commitment to goals and objectives.
-Uphold confidentiality and customer privacy in all situations.
-Professional demeanor, reacting well under pressure, and treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
-Proactive problem-solving orientation.
-Sound and accurate judgment.

-Willingness to pursue training and development opportunities, continuously building knowledge and skills.
-Effective leadership, management, coaching, presentation, and training skills.
-Observance of ACL’s Code of Conduct, values, and adherence to credit and delinquency management policies.
