job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above positions that has arisen in Eastern Highlands Region. The incumbent will report to the Principal Ecologist.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties (Responsibilities)

Assist the Ecologist in carrying out research projects on terrestrial ecology,
Assists in the designing and execution of ground and aerial surveys annually for large animal species within the Park,
Compiles checklists of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles for the Park,
Carries out Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) for projects within and outside the Park,
Attends workshops, seminars, meetings, conferences internally and externally on research projects,
Monitors fire, water, roads and fireguards, invasive plant species, vegetation,
Compiles situational, monthly, quarterly, annual and other relevant reports and submit to the Ecologist.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

Degree in Ecology, or related field of study.
GIS and Remote Sensing skills
Team player and result oriented,
Ability to work with minimum supervision,
Good analytical skill,
Computer literacy.
