The ideal candidates must possess the skill set necessary to execute the duties listed within the key responsibilities that follow and must meet the criteria in the minimum requirements to qualify for this opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring gauges and meters to ensure that the generator is operating efficiently. Performing routine maintenance checks and services on generators, such as oil changes and filter replacements Installing new generators or replacing parts in existing generators to keep them functioning properly. Maintaining electrical systems and components, such as replacing fuses or fixing wiring issues. Operating and maintaining equipment used to provide electricity to customers during power outages or emergencies. Responding to faults with the generator or other electrical equipment as required. Operating and monitoring computerized controls for generators to ensure they are functioning properly. Troubleshooting problems with electrical or mechanical equipment to locate the source of the issue. Monitoring fuel consumption and ordering additional fuel as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Fully qualified Class One Journeyman certification. Full ZESA Switching Certificate. Minimum 7 years demonstrated generator technical experience. Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel package. Candidates must be meticulous and must possess excellent reporting qualities. Strong work ethic and moral compass. Full medicals are required to work on designated sites.
