We are recruiting a seasoned General Manager to take full responsibility for the operations of a commercial cattle farm. The successful candidate will be accountable for livestock management, labour supervision, infrastructure and equipment maintenance, reporting, and driving commercial outcomes across the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of cattle operations including breeding, herd health, grazing, and nutrition Lead, supervise, and develop the farm labour team Oversee maintenance of farm infrastructure, fencing, water systems, and equipment Monitor livestock performance, maintain accurate records, and produce regular reports Manage budgets, input procurement, and farm expenditures Ensure compliance with animal welfare, environmental, and safety standards Implement and optimise systems to drive productivity and cost-efficiency Liaise with suppliers, veterinarians, consultants, and relevant stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience managing a cattle or livestock-focused farming operation Strong leadership and people management abilities Practical knowledge of pasture and herd management Competence in infrastructure and machinery maintenance Analytical and organised, with strong reporting and planning skills Commercially driven with a focus on results and profitability Relevant agricultural qualifications preferred but not essential
