Are you an experienced and dynamic professional with a background in managing Build divisions? Boxer Superstores is seeking a highly skilled General Manager to lead our Build Division from our Head Office in Westville, Durban. If you possess a strong track record in build stores management, financial acumen, and people leadership, we invite you to be a key player in driving our growth and success.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Reporting:

Provide detailed monthly reports to the executives on divisional performance.
Finance:

Oversee achievement of divisional budget.
Implement expense controls and internal audit management.
Collaborate with Regional Manager to address weak areas identified in internal audits.
Future Build Development:

Source new sites and manage merchandising strategies.
Drive Capex initiatives and recruit talented individuals.
Collaborate with the development team on drawings and layouts.
Coordinate orders for shelving and racking.
Oversee store openings and establish relationships with new suppliers.
Company Assets:

Manage company assets including trucks, forklifts, buildings, and generators.
Liaise with the Development Department for general maintenance checks.
Buying:

Provide regular feedback on buying activities.
Manage promotions, suppliers, and handle general queries.
Oversee new product listings and trades.
Store Administration:

Implement divisional admin checklists and conduct regular visits to stores.
Ensure compliance with divisional manager checklists.
People Management:

Develop and implement succession planning strategies.
Oversee training initiatives and recruitment processes.
Manage disciplinary procedures and conduct monthly divisional management meetings.
Maintain quarterly staff structures and recommend increases.
Facilitate staff movements, including transfers and relocations.
Motivate and engage management and staff.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of commerce degree in Finance or Business Management would be an advantage.
8 years of relevant build experience, including management of build divisions.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Systems experience, specifically Cube/Bomm.
Proven ability in analysing store P&L.
In-depth knowledge of industrial relations (IR).
