The National Sports Academy at Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) is looking for a passionate and experienced Football Coach to join our dedicated technical team. This pivotal role is central to our athlete development pathway, focusing on not only developing high-performance football talent but also fostering a holistic approach to player well-being and growth. The Football Coach will work closely with sports scientists, medical staff, and other coaches to create an environment that promotes athletic excellence, strategic play, and long-term player development both on and off the field.
Reporting to the Director, National Sports Academy, the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following;
• Design and deliver high-performance training programs that focus on technical skills, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and psychological development;
• Grow and mentor players to become elite athletes capable of competing in professional leagues, national teams, and collegiate competitions;
• Identify and develop high-potential talent with the goal of producing players who can be marketed, scouted, and signed by top clubs;
• Enhance the commercial value of players through media training, branding awareness, and exposure to professional networks and agents;
• Plan and manage competitive fixtures, tournaments, and match preparations, ensuring players gain real-game experience and visibility;
• Utilize performance analytics and video analysis to monitor progress, improve individual development, and adjust training strategies;
• Foster a winning culture rooted in discipline, teamwork, resilience, and professionalism;
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including fitness coaches, physiotherapists, psychologists, and academic staff, to support well-rounded athlete development;
• Establish and maintain relationships with clubs, scouts, sponsors, and football institutions to open career pathways and commercial opportunities for players;
• Promote the values and reputation of the National Sports Academy as a hub for football excellence and talent production.
Ad
• Five (5) O' Levels, including English;
• Valid CAF A coaching certification or equivalent (ZIFA Football Instructor certification an added advantage);
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Science or Management is an added advantage;
• Previous experience as a competitive soccer player;
• Demonstrated success coaching youth or professional football teams;
• Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills;
• Proven experience in player development and facilitating transitions to professional football;
• Established network within the football industry is a significant advantage.
