Role Overview
We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Full Function Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager / Hospital Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting function — from daily transactions through to financial reporting, in a dynamic, fast-paced private hospital environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
◆ Manage the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
◆ Prepare monthly management accounts, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
◆ Process and reconcile payroll in compliance with Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) and SI 184 of 2024 CBA requirements
◆ Manage VAT, PAYE, NSSA, and other statutory obligations — preparation and timely submission
◆ Oversee daily cash management, bank reconciliations, and petty cash
◆ Maintain fixed asset register and manage depreciation schedules
◆ Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
◆ Coordinate with medical aid societies, insurance companies, and third-party payers on billing and reimbursements
◆ Ensure compliance with healthcare billing standards and internal financial controls
◆ Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors
◆ Generate ad hoc financial reports and analysis for senior management
◆ Maintain accurate filing systems and financial records in line with regulatory requirements

Qualifications and Experience

◆ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
◆ Professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA, CIS, or equivalent (completed or in progress — advantageous)
◆ Minimum 3 years of full-function accounting experience (non-negotiable)
◆ Experience in a private hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment is a strong advantage
◆ Proven knowledge of Zimbabwean tax legislation, ZIMRA compliance, and NSSA regulations
◆ Proficiency in accounting software (Pastel / Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
◆ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling)
◆ Familiarity with medical aid billing and claims reconciliation is an added advantage
