Join the growth journey of Lion Finance as we seek an accomplished Finance Manager to lead our financial systems and drive continued success. We are looking for an experienced professional to contribute to our high-performing team, influencing day-to-day operations and strategically positioning our finances. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in current accounting practices, capital raising, and adaptability to navigate changes, whether in times of growth or downsizing. As a crucial member of our senior management, the Finance Manager must excel in leadership and effective communication.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Take charge of cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting to shape the company's financial strategy and staffing needs.
-Coordinate the development of annual reporting, capital, and program budgets, ensuring accurate reporting for each.
-Ensure operational cash flow compatibility by overseeing daily accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities.
-Develop and implement best practices and tools for a well-controlled yet flexible organization, emphasizing strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communication, and workflows.
-Stay compliant with national and local financial requirements by staying abreast of existing and new legislation.

Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
-Research revenue opportunities, analyze economic trends, identify areas for cost reduction, and enhance processes.
-Perform risk management through the analysis of company liabilities and investments, evaluate and manage capital structure, and lead fundraising initiatives.
-Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal staff handling other HR aspects.
-Monitor business performance using tracking tools, implement corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management team, and the rest of the company.
-Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (e.g., Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general).

Qualifications and Experience

Required Skills and Qualifications:
-Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
-Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
-Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
-Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
-Working knowledge of raising capital outside traditional lines of credit.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
-Chartered Accountant.
-Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
-At least 3 years' experience in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Business Lending in a Reputable Micro Finance Institution.
-Professional certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant).
-Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations.
-Additional Post Graduate Microfinance Training and Qualification is an added advantage.
-Ability to think strategically and see the big picture.
-Familiarity with the software required to run a modern finance and accounting operation.
