Duties and Responsibilities
Position Detail
Daily
Payments of payables invoices and customs duties Initiating payables requisitions in the payables system and dispatching purchase orders to suppliers. GL coding of suppliers’ invoices, scanning and sending same to Accounts Payables Payment of country trips advances.
Monthly
Preparation of general ledger (GL) reconciliations for some allocated balance sheet accounts. Following up on outstanding reconciling items and preparation of clearing journals Raising of receivable invoices and dispatching same to customers Preparation of GL journals from bank statements, clearing documents and petty cash vouchers. Payment of statutory obligations such as employee taxes, VAT, corporate taxes, and Govt levies. VAT returns compilation and submissions. Generating GL reports for filing.
Annually
Preparation of external audit schedules. Attending to audit queries and solving accordingly Assist the Controller in compiling other ad hoc reports. Participation in stock take and carrying out stock valuation.
