FACT Zimbabwe is a Christian based organisation that was instituted in 1987. Since establishment, FACT Zimbabwe has been a leading national HIV and development organisation implementing various projects directly and through partnerships. The organization have since grown to become a broad-based health and development organization whilst maintaining special focus on HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and related health issues. It envisions ‘Healthy Communities and a Healthy Nation’ and has a national footprint directly and through partnerships. FACT Zimbabwe is a community health partner in a consortium project led by Union Zimbabwe Trust (UZT) called SUPPORT TB which is funded by USAID. The project Goal is, ‘to improve health outcomes for individuals, health workers, families and communities affected and infected by TB in Zimbabwe’. FACT seeks the services of staff for Mashonaland Province as detailed below;
Position: FIELD OFFICER (SUPPORT TB)
Reports to: Regional Project Coordinator
Department: Health and Wellbeing
Duty Station: Mashonaland Districts

Job Purpose:
The incumbent will play a lead role in implementing and monitoring the project activities as well as stakeholder engagement at district level. S/he is also responsible for providing guidance and supervision to Field Assistant and the Community Health Monitors (volunteers). This includes coaching and ensuring effective co-ordination of activity implementation at district level and in project sites/health facilities. The Field Officers will also contribute to development of Standard Operational Procedure (SOPs) for the community health workers and are responsible with ensuring that these SOPs are followed.
• Lead day to day implementation of all project activities at district level ensuring quality
through effective planning, implementation and monitoring with communities.
• Stakeholder engagement and management at district level especially with MoHCC, District Development Coordinators, local authorities, project health facilities and other CSOs to ensure buy-in and smooth implementation of the project in the district
• Prepares regular project plans and reports (monthly, quarterly and annual reports) for the district and input to project planning and reporting at national level.
• Train community-based volunteers on TB case finding, sputum collection, contact investigation and treatment adherence with guidance from Regional Project Coordinator
• Conduct Community Dialogues Facilitators Training of Trainers (ToTs) for norms change
• Develop digital and theatre content on TB disseminated through various media platforms
• Organize community radio sessions on TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment & care
• Facilitate establishment of nutrition gardens for MDR-TB and DS-TB households and door to door support to maintain these vegetable home gardens by local AREX officer
• Conduct district USAID OVC partners TWG meetings to integrate TB within the existing OVC HIV sensitive case management guided by relevant SOPs
• Organize training of Lead community volunteers on One Impact feedback card and CLM with support from Data Assistant
• Conduct advocacy meetings with MoHCC at district level to address barriers to TB screening, treatment and care, using CLM findings
• sourced continuously across all project sites or health facilities in the district.
• Represents FACT in appropriate technical working groups and fora organized by MOHCC, donors and other stakeholders in the district
Education, Desired Skills and Competencies
• At least a first degree in Development Studies, Health Promotion, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing Science or any other relevant social sciences degree
• At least 3 years post graduate working experience in a similar position preferably on USAID funded projects in NGO sector
• Proven experience of working on TB and or HIV focused community interventions
• Good project planning, coordination and report writing skills
• Experience with community systems for health and community engagements
• Sound experience with stakeholder engagement at district level
• Motorbike riding experience with class 3 driver’s license is a requirement
