1. Facilities Officer – Fixed Term Contract

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is a statutory body responsible for ensuring the provision of a reliable, safe, affordable, and sustainable energy supply through effective regulation. ZERA is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and results-oriented individuals to fill the position of Facilities Officer.

Facilities Officer – Fixed Term Contract
Reporting To
Financial Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Planning and coordinating all installation, repair, refurbishment, and minor works activities for buildings, plants, and equipment.
-Conducting regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and structures to identify maintenance and repair requirements.
-Ensuring that facilities, utilities, and workspaces comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, and building regulations, as well as organizational policies.
-Managing facility support services, including cleaning, waste management, landscaping, parking, office moves, and general office services to maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and functional working environment.
-Participating in the preparation of specifications, scopes of work, and cost estimates for facility-related procurement, maintenance, and project activities.
-Providing technical advice to management and user departments regarding the facility implications of projects, leases, and organizational decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:
-A minimum of five (5) Ordinary Level passes, including English Language and Mathematics, or an equivalent secondary education qualification.
-A Higher National Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, Property Management, Engineering, Architecture, Estate Management, or a related discipline.
-A professional certification in Facilities Management or a related field (an added advantage).
-At least three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience in facilities management, building maintenance, property administration, or a related field, preferably in a similar institution or corporate environment.
-Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and engage effectively with stakeholders.
