EXPERIENCED CHEF

Duties and Responsibilities

### **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and supper meals according to planned menus
* Prepare meals suitable for patients with different dietary requirements, where required
* Ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard
* Maintain strict food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
* Follow portion control and minimise food wastage
* Assist with menu planning and recipe development
* Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of food supplies
* Monitor kitchen stock and communicate stock requirements
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
* Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time
* Assist with the preparation of food for the hospital's onsite café
* Support the management of kitchen operations and ensure compliance with hospital standards
* Perform other duties related to kitchen operations as required

Qualifications and Experience

### **REQUIREMENTS**

* Proven experience working as a **Chef**, preferably in a hospital, healthcare, hotel, restaurant, or institutional kitchen
* Relevant culinary qualification or professional chef training
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety
* Experience preparing meals for large groups is an advantage
* Knowledge of special diets and therapeutic meal preparation will be an added advantage
* Good organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict meal service times
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards
* Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
