A non-profit making organisation is searching for experienced candidates for the position of executive director. We appreciate you taking the time to review the list of qualifications and to apply for the position. Reporting to the board of directors, the executive director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of programs and staff. The candidate will not only be required to understand current trends in the field but will also have experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising plan, portfolio management and working with networks (donors, fundraisers, teams, corporate and community partners). Above all, the executive director should be highly effective in a leadership role that requires clear communication skills and decisiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities

Objectives of this role
• Work closely with board of directors and committees to assess and address issues affecting the organization
• Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance
• Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations, and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while driving the organization's mission
• Increase awareness of the organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media
• Develop an actionable plan for fundraising and managing monthly cash flow
• Comply with all national and local regulations
Summary of Responsibilities
• Create institutional plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with board of directors
• Meet aggressive annual fundraising goals, in partnership with board of directors, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources
• Work with staff and board on annual fundraising benefit and additional events, and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media
• Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs
• Build and lead an effective team that's dedicated to fulfilling the organization's mission and vision through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising

Qualifications and Experience

Required skills and qualifications
• Five or more years of experience as Executive Director or in senior management, preferably with nonprofit organizations
• Experience in developing strategies, plans, networks and running fundraising initiatives.
• Understanding of corporate finance and measure of performance
• In-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and managerial best practices
• An analytical mind capable for "out-of-the-box" thinking to solve problems
• Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to fundraising
• Holder of first degree in Development Studies and MSc/MA in Business Administration, Finance or relevant field an added advantage.
• Experience in managing budgets
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills and public speaking
skills.
Salary for the position:
The organisation is offering a salary range between USD$1000.00 to USD$2000.00 for the position.
