Midlands State University (MSU) is seeking applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Executive Dean in the Faculty of Agriculture, Environment, and Natural Resources Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Executive Dean will be responsible for providing both academic and administrative leadership to the faculty, overseeing human resources, budgeting, academic programs, equipment, and related matters. Key duties include leading the faculty in achieving its objectives, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and university service, and securing support through strategic partnerships. Fundraising efforts to support teaching and research will be part of the role, as well as establishing links with industry, commerce, and professional establishments for student internships and work-related learning.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for the role of Executive Dean should possess a doctoral degree with substantial university teaching experience and publications in Agricultural Sciences, Wildlife Sciences, or Land and Water Resources Management. A commitment to academic excellence and alignment with Education 5.0 principles is essential. Strong communication skills, university administration experience, and dedication to MSU's teaching methodologies, including work-related learning and online teaching, are also required.
