We are expanding our renewable energy division and seeking an experienced, hands-on Energy & Solar Consultant to lead client consultations, system installations, and practical training programs in modern smart-climate energy technologies.
Role Overview This dual-capability role combines technical field expertise with training and consultancy. You will assess client energy needs, design and install smart solar and climate-resilient energy systems, and facilitate high-impact training workshops for technicians, businesses, and communities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Consultancy & System Design Conduct energy audits and site assessments for residential, commercial, and agricultural clients. -Design tailored, climate-smart energy systems (off-grid, grid-tied, hybrid solar PV, energy storage, and smart microgrids). -Advise clients on energy efficiency, cost optimization, and climate-resilient energy strategies.
2. Installation & Field Operations -Lead and execute the physical installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage (Lithium-ion/Gel), and smart metering systems. -Ensure all installations comply with electrical safety standards, local regulations, and manufacturer specifications. -Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain active renewable energy installations.
3. Capacity Building & Training -Develop and deliver practical, hands-on training modules on solar design, installation, smart energy management, and system maintenance. -Train field technicians, entrepreneurs, and clients on operating climate-smart energy equipment effectively. -Evaluate trainee progress and certify core technical competencies.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Management, or a related field. Certifications: Recognized Solar PV Installation / Electrical Certification/License (a distinct advantage). Experience: Minimum of [e.g., 3+ years] in solar PV installation, smart energy system design, and technical consultancy.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated hands-on expertise in solar panel sizing, inverter configuration, and battery storage setup. Familiarity with smart energy monitoring tools, IoT energy meters, and climate-adaptive energy solutions. Training Ability: Proven experience in conducting workshops, technical training, or mentoring field teams. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and client management skills. Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field project sites.
